A Fire Rainbow - The Rarest Of All Naturally Occurring Atmospheric Phenomena

The picture posted below is of a "fire rainbow". A "fire rainbow is the rarest of all naturally occurring atmospheric phenomena.

This particular picture was apparently taken on the Idaho/Washingotn border.

It is reported that this event lasted about one hour.

In order for this to occur, the clouds have to be cirrus clouds, at least 20,000 feet in the air with just the right amount of ice crystals and the sun has to hit the clouds at precisely 58 degrees.
